PURINA invitation to lovely Santa Barbara, USA !!!
We got a wonderful surprise in August, just returning back home after a show tour in Sweden and Germany!
Our young “Monty” BIS WW’09 Multi Ch FIONN CLANN PARAMOUNT AT SOBERS got an invitation from PURINA to participate at a special event called “Showcase for foreign bred dogs” held at the Santa Barbara Kennel Club shows in the end og August. This as a result of winning BIS at the PURINA PRO PLAN CUP 2009 in Italy!
Monty was also entered to the KC shows held before and after this event, as well at the SANTA BARBARA KC shows. We had 4 days of showing including the special event and our MONTY did great by not only going BOB all four days but also being GROUP 2nd all four days!!!!

The first 3 days, Monty was only being beaten by the #1 HOUND in America, the famous Whippet Ch Starline Chanel, and the 4th day, by a lovely Topwinning veteran Saluki. This under such famous Sighthound specialists as Mrs Joan Goldstein. Dr John Reeve-Newson, Mrs Carol Reisman and true Sighthound lovers as Mr Desi Murphy and Douglas W Johnson. In the special event “Showcase for foreign bred dogs” sponsored by PURINA, Monty had to compete with 36 dogs, most of them imports to US and already Top Winners in their breed in the US. ( and all with the very best of handlers!:-) We are extremely proud that our Monty managed to impress the judge and finished again at a 2nd place !!!

The atmosphere was really nice both at the showground and in the evenings and we felt really very welcome by both PURINA and the Santa Barbara KC! A very special THANKS goes to Mr Desmond Murphy, who so kindly, together with a wonderful group of people , such as PURINA in Italy, made this such a memorable week for us.
